WKU (10-2, 8-0 C-USA) will host Southern Mississippi (9-3, 7-1 C-USA) in the Conference USA championship game at 11 a.m. CT on Dec. 5 at Houchens Industries-L.T. Smith Stadium. The game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN2.
WKU defeated Marshall 49-28 to win the C-USA East Division title on Friday (Nov. 27). Southern Miss defeated Louisiana Tech 58-24 on Saturday (Nov. 28) to win the C-USA West Division title.
Tickets for the game can be purchased online now or by calling 1-800-5-BIG-RED from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Season ticket holders currently have their seats reserved, and those tickets can be purchased by going online to the “My Hilltopper Account.” Those tickets will be made available to the public if not purchased by 11:59 p.m. Monday (Nov. 30).
Students with a valid WKU ID will be able to present their ID and get into the championship game for free.
As a reminder, this is a Conference USA championship game and all tickets and parking have been set within Conference USA’s guidelines.

State high school football finals
With WKU hosting the C-USA championship game, the Russell Athletic/KHSAA Commonwealth Gridiron Bowl will move from a Friday-Saturday schedule (Dec. 4-5) to Thursday, Saturday and Sunday (Dec. 3-6).
The schedule of games for the state football finals will be:
- Thursday (Dec. 3): Class 1A championship, Beechwood vs. Pikeville, 7 p.m.
- Saturday (Dec. 5): Class 6A championship, Lexington Lafayette vs. Louisville Male, 5 p.m.; Class 5A championship, Bowling Green vs. Pulaski County, 8 p.m.
- Sunday (Dec. 6): Class 2A championship, Mayfield vs. Newport Central Catholic, 1 p.m.; Class 3A championship, Belfry vs. Lexington Catholic, 4 p.m.; Class 4A championship, South Warren vs. Johnson Central, 7 p.m.
Individual game tickets are $11 for general admission. Reserved chair tickets are $15 each and $65 for all six sessions.
