WKU to host Conference USA championship game Dec. 5

WKU (10-2, 8-0 C-USA) will host Southern Mississippi (9-3, 7-1 C-USA) in the Conference USA championship game at 11 a.m. CT on Dec. 5 at Houchens Industries-L.T. Smith Stadium. The game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN2.

cusa-championshipWKU defeated Marshall 49-28 to win the C-USA East Division title on Friday (Nov. 27). Southern Miss defeated Louisiana Tech 58-24 on Saturday (Nov. 28) to win the C-USA West Division title.

Tickets for the game can be purchased online now or by calling 1-800-5-BIG-RED from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Season ticket holders currently have their seats reserved, and those tickets can be purchased by going online to the “My Hilltopper Account.” Those tickets will be made available to the public if not purchased by 11:59 p.m. Monday (Nov. 30).

Students with a valid WKU ID will be able to present their ID and get into the championship game for free.

As a reminder, this is a Conference USA championship game and all tickets and parking have been set within Conference USA’s guidelines.

Ticket prices for the 2015 C-USA Football Championship are:

  • Harbaugh Club – $100
  • VIP Chairbacks – $40
  • West side (Home) – $35
  • Lower Level East – $30
  • Upper Level East – $25
  • Youth – $15
  • Student Guests – $15
  • Groups of 4 or more – $15

State high school football finals

With WKU hosting the C-USA championship game, the Russell Athletic/KHSAA Commonwealth Gridiron Bowl will move from a Friday-Saturday schedule (Dec. 4-5) to Thursday, Saturday and Sunday (Dec. 3-6).

The schedule of games for the state football finals will be:

Individual game tickets are $11 for general admission. Reserved chair tickets are $15 each and $65 for all six sessions. Other WKU campus events

In addition to the KHSAA and C-USA football games, here are some of the other events being held on the WKU main campus:

  • WKU Department of Theatre and Dance will present its Children’s Theatre production of The Emperor’s New Clothes at 4 p.m. Friday (Dec. 4), 3 p.m. Saturday (Dec. 5) and 3 p.m. Sunday (Dec. 6) at the Gordon Wilson Hall Lab Theatre.
  • WKU Forensics will host the Junior Hilltopper Classic on Saturday (Dec. 5) at Garrett Conference Center and other locations.
  • The Kentucky Museum will host its annual Christmas in Kentucky at 11 a.m. Saturday (Dec. 5).
  • Lady Topper basketball will face Austin Peay at 4 p.m. Saturday (Dec. 5) at Diddle Arena.
  • The Symphony at WKU will present It’s Yule Time! at 3 p.m. Sunday (Dec. 6) at Van Meter Hall.
