Desrochers will discuss his book “The Locavore’s Dilemma: In Praise of the 10,000 Mile Diet” in Grise Hall Auditorium at 8 p.m.

Desrochers and co-author Hiroko Shimizu provide a critical view of the local food movement. They argue that advances in agriculture production and technology have improved our food quality, safety and price. The provocative book encourages a more holistic approach to growing, purchasing and distributing food.

The BB&T Center for the Study of Capitalism is housed in WKU’s Gordon Ford College of Business and is committed to educating students, faculty, and the general public about capitalism. The lecture is sponsored by the Charles G. Koch Charitable Foundation, the BB&T Charitable Foundation and the Department of Economics.
