‘Do We Really Need a Central Bank?’ topic of Feb. 18 lecture

Dr. Steve Horwitz, Charles A. Dana Professor of Economics and department chair at St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y., will speak at WKU on Monday (Feb. 18) as part of the BB&T Center for the Study of Capitalism lecture series.

Horwitz will speak on the topic “Do We Really Need a Central Bank?” in the Grise Hall Auditorium, Room 235, beginning at 8 p.m.

He is the author of two books and has written extensively on Austrian economics, Hayekian political economy, monetary theory and history, and macroeconomics.

The BB&T Center for the Study of Capitalism is housed in the Gordon Ford College of Business and is committed to educating students, faculty and the public about capitalism. The Center is funded by a grant provided by the BB&T Charitable Foundation.
