WKU broadcasting major finalist in national competition

WKU junior Stacie Hewitt is a finalist in the 2011 Broadcast Education Association National Festival of Media Arts Audio Competition.

Hewitt, a broadcasting (radio/TV operations & management) major from Old Hickory, Tenn., is program director and on-air personality at WWHR-FM Revolution 91.7, WKU’s student-run radio station operating from the School of Journalism & Broadcasting.

Awards in the 2011 BEA Festival of Media Arts will be presented during the group’s convention April 9-13 in Las Vegas. The convention will be held in conjunction with the NAB (National Association of Broadcasters) Show.

About WWHR-FM: WWHR-FM delivers a commercial-free mix of progressive music that follows the national charts of the College Music Journal and then expands the rotation to address local tastes. Revolution 91.7 recalls the founding artists of college radio while exposing the contemporary underground. In addition, WWHR-FM features news, sports and genre-specific programming.
