Welcome to Today@WKU, the daily newsletter from WKU Public Affairs, for January 12, 2018. Note: WKU will be closed Monday (January 15) for the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday; Today@WKU will return Tuesday (January 16).

WKU News

  • WKU Winter Weather Advisory for Jan. 12: All WKU campus will be closed Friday because of winter weather. Any students taking Winter Term classes should watch email and Blackboard for any assignment revisions.
  • Portion of Minton Circle Closed: Beginning today, a portion of Minton Circle will be closed (at the crosswalk between Minton Hall and DSU) to through traffic so crews can begin work on replacing broken sections of brick on Minton Hall. A lift will be in position during the closure. Please use caution when driving or walking in the area. Work is expected to be complete by Tuesday.
  • View from the Hill – WKU students studying in 12 countries during Winter Term: From the Grand Canyon to Argentina and points in between, several WKU faculty and staff are beginning the new year studying around the globe. Amy Bingham checks in with some of them in this View from the Hill.
  • 2018 Winter Weather Communications Plan: Check out a reminder about WKU’s winter weather communications plan that provides a number of ways you can find out if classes are delayed, canceled or if a campus is closed.
  • Winter Term Intersession Parking and Transit Changes: Here’s a reminder from WKU Parking & Transportation about intersession services in effect through Jan. 19. Normal parking regulations resume at 4:30 p.m. Jan. 21; full transit services resume at 7:15 a.m. Jan. 22. More: Winter Term parking map
  • WKU Public Radio Weekday Newscast Schedule: Tune into WKU Public Radio for national and international news from NPR, and local newscasts every half hour during Morning Edition (4-9 a.m. Central), and All Things Considered (3-6 p.m. Central), as well as local news features and interviews produced by the WKU news staff. WKU’s Public Radio can be heard on WKYU-FM (88.9) in Bowling Green/Glasgow; WDCL-FM (89.7) in Somerset/Campbellsville; WKPB-FM (88.9) in Henderson/Owensboro; WKUE-FM (90.9) in Elizabethtown/Bardstown; and online at http://www.wkyufm.org/
