  • WKU’s first transmission electron microscope was installed in 1967 at Thompson Complex North Wing.

    Ogden College: Celebrating 50 years of Electron Microscopy at WKU: The 1957 Russian launch of Sputnik 1 into orbit caught America by surprise, initiating not only the race to the moon, but also a drive to improve all aspects of American science education. This far-reaching focus had not just a dramatic impact on elementary and secondary schools throughout the U.S., but also on a number of colleges and universities—including WKU.

  • WKU student awarded Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grant: WKU student Kaitlyn Bison of Bowling Green recently was awarded a Study Abroad Grant worth $1,000 from The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi — the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines. Bison is one of 25 students nationwide to receive the award.
  • WKU to confer degrees to 1,401 during Fall 2017 Commencement on Dec. 9: WKU will confer degrees and certificates to 1,401 graduates during its Fall 2017 Commencement on Saturday (Dec. 9) at Diddle Arena. More: Commencement parking
  • WKU Public Radio Weekday Newscast Schedule: Tune into WKU Public Radio for national and international news from NPR, and local newscasts every half hour during Morning Edition (4-9 a.m. Central), and All Things Considered (3-6 p.m. Central), as well as local news features and interviews produced by the WKU news staff. WKU’s Public Radio can be heard on WKYU-FM (88.9) in Bowling Green/Glasgow; WDCL-FM (89.7) in Somerset/Campbellsville; WKPB-FM (88.9) in Henderson/Owensboro; WKUE-FM (90.9) in Elizabethtown/Bardstown; and online at http://www.wkyufm.org/

  • Track & Field: Hilltoppers Announce 2017-18 Schedule: WKU Track & Field head coach Erik Jenkins has announced the program’s upcoming 2017-18 schedule, which features six meets across the indoor and outdoor seasons in either Kentucky or Tennessee. The Red and White will again host the WKU Hilltopper Relays on The Hill April 6-7.
