  • Football: Mike White Earns C-USA Offensive Player of the Week with 485 Yards, 5 TD’s on Senior Night: For the second time in his WKU career, quarterback Mike White has been named Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday afternoon. White threw for 485 yards on 39-of-54 passing, with five touchdowns and zero interceptions in the Hilltoppers’ 41-38, triple-overtime victory over rival Middle Tennessee. Next: White and the Hilltoppers conclude their regular season Friday night at FIU, with kickoff at 6 p.m. CT on beIN Sports. With a win over the Panthers, WKU would reach seven victories for the seventh straight year. More: Coach Sanford’s weekly press conference.
  • Track and Field: Hilltopper Assistant Willie Johnson Passes Away: With great sadness, WKU Athletics shares the news of the passing of Hilltopper Track and Field assistant coach Willie Johnson. Johnson, 34, passed away in the early hours of the morning on Sunday. The track and field program hosted a candle light vigil in memory of Coach Johnson on Monday night.
  • Women’s basketball: Elgedawy Picks Up C-USA Freshman of the Week Honors: Raneem Elgedawy has been named the C-USA Freshman of the Week as announced by the league office Monday afternoon after averaging 9.5 points and 8.5 rebounds in two meetings with Power Five opponents Notre Dame and Indiana last week. Next: Elgedawy and the Lady Toppers will return to action in the Georgia State Thanksgiving Classic in Atlanta on Friday and Sunday. The Lady Toppers will battle Mercer, a team that won 25 games in 2016-17, at 5 p.m. (CT) Friday before taking on the host and former Sun Belt rival Georgia State on Sunday at 1 p.m. (CT).
  • Hilltoppers Open Battle 4 Atlantis Against Top-Five Villanova: WKU Hilltopper Basketball plays away from home for the first time this season when it faces No. 5/3 Villanova at 1:30 p.m. CT Wednesday in an opening-round game of the Bad Boy Mowers Battle 4 Atlantis in Paradise Island, Bahamas, on ESPN2.
