  • 5 WKU students selected as Alumni Leadership Scholars: The WKU Alumni Association has selected five incoming freshmen as Alumni Leadership Scholars for the fall.
  • View from the Hill – President Caboni settles into new role: Last week marked a lot of firsts for freshmen starting their first semester at WKU.  The same can be said of WKU’s new President Timothy C. Caboni as Amy Bingham tells us in this View from the Hill.
  • Third group of students begins MFA in Creative Writing: A third cohort of students has joined WKU’s Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing program. The new MFA students are Emily Diehl of Nashville, Tennessee; Brodie Gress of Bretzville, Indiana; John Paul King of Hilliard, Ohio; Paula Konokh of Moscow, Russia; Hunter Little of Brookville, Indiana; and Marcee Wardell of Ortonville, Michigan.
  • WKU Admissions hosting events for prospective students & their families: WKU is taking its DiscoverWKU events across the United States this fall. Events are coming up Tuesday in Huntsville, Alabama; Sept. 7 in northern Kentucky; and Sept. 12 in Lexington. Register online at http://www.wku.edu/discoverwku/
  • WKU Public Radio Weekday Newscast Schedule: Tune into WKU Public Radio for national and international news from NPR, and local newscasts every half hour during Morning Edition (4-9 a.m. Central), and All Things Considered (3-6 p.m. Central), as well as local news features and interviews produced by the WKU news staff. WKU’s Public Radio can be heard on WKYU-FM (88.9) in Bowling Green/Glasgow; WDCL-FM (89.7) in Somerset/Campbellsville; WKPB-FM (88.9) in Henderson/Owensboro; WKUE-FM (90.9) in Elizabethtown/Bardstown; and online at http://www.wkyufm.org/

  • New coach has high hopes for WKU football: It’s the beginning of a new era at WKU that hopes to pick up where the last era left off on the football field. After winning back-to-back Conference USA titles, former head coach Jeff Brohm left the school to take the job at Purdue.  Now at the youthful age of 35, Mike Sanford steps in to hopefully take the Hilltoppers to the next level.
