Allen, a Healthcare Administration major in the College of Health and Human Services, will be completing an independent research project, Considering the Environment of Nursing Homes for the Betterment of Residential Care, with the faculty at Windesheim University of Applied Sciences in Zwolle, Netherlands.

“My research will examine the relationship between administrators and the long term care regulatory body, and the effect that this relationship has on the long term care environment and the residents’ aging experience,” she said. “The project will employ a comparative approach to understand ways in which U.S. policy can be improved to better the experience of residential aging.”
