“Heike Armbrust and Dr. Laura McGee have been instrumental in fostering an excellent cultural understanding among the team members of BILSTEIN COLD ROLLED STEEL. We are pleased to support the scholarship fund of these two German-American ambassadors,” said President/CEO Mark Loik.

This fund, as its name suggests, was created in conjunction with Heike Armbrust and Dr. Laura McGee. Armbrust is a German educator and Facilitator of International Student Placement in collaboration with WKU. McGee is head of the Department of Modern Languages and a Professor of German at WKU.

This fund will further their works by providing study abroad scholarships to students seeking experiences with deep engagement in German culture and/or language. Armbrust’s motivations for assisting with this fund stem from her wish to support WKU students who are interested in studying abroad to gain insight into a different culture and work world.

“We are grateful for this investment in student scholarships,” said Donald Smith, President of the College Heights Foundation, “and this particular fund will help deserving students obtain a valuable educational experience that could be life changing.”
