In the highly competitive field of acting, having a special skill or knowledge can give you an edge over the competition. Just ask Rob Anderson, a 2008 WKU Department of Theatre and Dance graduate from Fort Mitchell.
Anderson, known professionally as Robert Hardin, credits his love of baseball and “being a big fan of ‘The Rocket’ since I was a kid” with helping him obtain the role of Roger “The Rocket” Clemens in the new show McCready the Musical.
The show, which has been playing in Los Angeles at the Hollywood Fringe Festival, moves to New York City’s Triad Theatre in September.
In McCready, the life story of troubled country singer Mindy McCready, Anderson plays the dual roles of baseball great Roger Clemens and aspiring country singer Billy McKnight.
Anderson was in numerous productions during his time at WKU and has mainly worked in Los Angeles since graduating. McCready the Musical will be his Off-Broadway debut and plays Sept. 8-10 and Sept. 15-17 at The Triad Theatre. Tickets are available at triadnyc.com.
