The 2016 Bike4Alz team will be riding into Bowling Green on Wednesday afternoon (July 6) and will be participating in a community street fest on Thursday evening (July 7).
The WKU fraternity members will be traveling from Hopkinsville to Bowling Green as part of their cross country bike ride to raise awareness and money for Alzheimer’s research. The group is riding about 3,600 miles from Seattle, Washington, to Virginia Beach, Virginia, and has traveled through Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri and Illinois.
The riders are members of Phi Gamma Delta (or Fiji) fraternity and have set a fund-raising goal of $100,000 for this year’s ride.
The Bike4Alz Street Fest will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday (July 7) at Fountain Square Park in downtown Bowling Green. The group also is planning events Saturday (July 9) in Louisville and Sunday and Monday (July 10-11) in Lexington.
