Dr. Anthony McAdoo, a veteran alumni relations professional, has been named the new Executive Director of the WKU Alumni Association.
Dr. McAdoo, currently Assistant Vice President for Advancement and Senior Director for the University of Oregon Alumni Association, will join WKU on June 20.
“We are thrilled we were able to bring Anthony to WKU,” said Marc Archambault, WKU’s Vice President of Development and Alumni Relations. “I am confident he will draw upon his considerable talents and proven experience in the field of alumni relations to lift WKU’s engagement with its alumni community to new heights. Although he is a graduate of another institution, we were impressed by Anthony’s desire to become a Hilltopper through and through.”
Julie Hinson, President of the WKU Alumni Association Board of Directors and member of the search committee, said she is confident in Dr. McAdoo’s vision for leadership. “After a nationwide search, Anthony very quickly rose to the top of our list of qualified candidates,” she said. “His experience at other universities will be invaluable as he brings new ideas and energy to our campus. He has done great things for the University of Oregon, which takes great pride in the green and yellow, and we are happy to have him join us in proudly sporting the red and white.”
Dr. McAdoo said he is excited to be joining the loyal and proud Hilltopper family. “I am eager to begin working with the staff on the Hill and with the WKU Alumni Association board members and volunteers to engage alumni in ways that help WKU fulfill its vision as a leading American university with international reach,” he said.
An 18-year professional in higher education, Dr. McAdoo has spent the last 15 years in progressive leadership roles in alumni relations. He holds three degrees in agriculture and education, including a doctorate in higher education leadership, from the University of Arkansas.
