2 WKU students awarded Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grants

Two WKU students recently were awarded study abroad grants worth $1,000 each from The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi — the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines. The students are part of a select group of 25 students nationwide to receive the award.

phikappaphiWKU students receiving a Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grant are Christopher McDaniel, a Bowling Green junior with majors in Biology and Chemistry who will use the grant to study in San Jose, Costa Rica; and Stella Treumann, a Somerset senior with majors in International Affairs, Chinese and Asian Religions and Cultures who will use the grant to study in Beijing, China.

Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grants are designed to support undergraduates, both members and nonmembers, as they seek expanded knowledge and experience in their academic fields. Since the program’s inception in 2001, the Society has awarded more than $750,000 in Study Abroad Grants.
