The award, one of the highest honors by AFA, recognizes an individual in the field of higher education who has demonstrated exceptional and long-term commitment to fraternities and sororities on their campus.
Dr. Pride’s experience in student affairs began with his bachelor’s, master’s and education specialist degrees from WKU. He later earned his Ph.D. in Educational Administration from the University of Louisville. His fraternity and sorority history of engagement and advocacy is expansive, and includes volunteer roles, including General Council President for Phi Delta Theta Fraternity; Undergraduate Interfraternity Institute faculty, a five-time Southeastern Panhellenic Conference Region Advisor, and a three-time Southeastern Interfraternity Conference Area Advisor.
For his contributions to the field over his career, Dr. Pride has been awarded Sigma Nu’s Greek Advisor of the Year Award, a Kappa Alpha Order Appreciation Award, the Jane H. Sutton Advisor of the Year Award and an Order of Omega Fellowship.
Dr. Pride will be recognized at the AFA Annual Meeting in Fort Worth, Texas, in December.
