The lecture will begin at 1 p.m. at Gary Ransdell Hall Auditorium and is open to students, faculty, staff and community members.

Assistant Secretary Richard, the lead person in the U.S. government dealing with refugee issues globally, will discuss the steps the U.S. is taking to help Syrian refugee children displaced by war continue their education and the challenges the students and the donor community face in doing so. Her remarks will be followed by a Q&A session.

Co-sponsored by the Office of International Programs and the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences, Richard’s presentation is the first event in this year’s “Diplomacy on the Hill” series.
