“WKU Facilities Management and Planning, Design and Construction are proud to support Light of Chance by teaming up to build and set up the Hullabaloo Obstacle Course,” said Trent Blair, director of WKU Facilities Management.
The Hullabaloo Family Obstacle Course is an untimed obstacle challenge established by Light of Chance’s Get Set Go Program. The Hullabaloo race is a unique mile-long run, constructed of challenging obstacles designed to engage families of all ages and fitness levels in endless amounts of exciting entertainment. Hullabaloo is one of the only obstacle courses in the south central area created for the entire family. The Hullabaloo experience combines teamwork, family strength and participation.
The Hullabaloo Family Obstacle Course Race was created last year on behalf of Childhood Obesity Awareness month. According to Trust for America’s Health, Kentucky ranks third for childhood obesity in the USA, and fifth for adults. Light of Chance is igniting change through wellness programs, like the Hullabaloo race to combat those statistics.
All proceeds from the Hullabaloo will benefit the Get Set Go Wellness Program, a free, fun, and comprehensive health initiative that encourages youth grades K-8 to become more active and healthy through nutrition and physical activity. Launched in 2010, Get Set Go is the largest youth wellness program in Bowling Green, serving more than 650 youth weekly.
