The Military Student Services office is collecting items for service members as part of WKU’s activities for the September 11th National Day of Service and Remembrance.
The office is collecting cookies, candy, travel-sized toiletry items (razors, shaving cream, toothpaste, etc.) and WKU-themed items (hand sanitizer, lip balm, mini footballs, stress balls, red towels, pens with black ink, T-shirts, etc.), according to Tonya Archey, director of Military Student Services.
Items can be dropped off at Tate Page Hall, room 408, through Sept. 11. The office will begin shipping items that will be distributed to deployed service members.
In conjunction with the collection drive, WKU’s Student Activities office will host a banner signing and letter-writing campaign for the service members from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 8-9 at the Downing Student Union atrium.
