WKU will receive its 2015 U.S. Department of Education Green Ribbon Schools Postsecondary Sustainability Award on Wednesday afternoon (June 3) in Washington, D.C. (More: View from the Hill segment on the award.)
WKU Sustainability Coordinator Christian Ryan, student Beth McGrew and faculty member Molly Kerby will attend the ceremony at the U.S. Department of Commerce Herbert C. Hoover Building Auditorium. The awards ceremony will begin at 2 p.m. (Eastern time) and will be available online at http://www.ustream.tv/channel/education-department.

The U.S. Department of Education Green Ribbon Schools award honors public and private elementary, middle and high schools, districts and postsecondary institutions that are exemplary in three Pillars: Reduced Environmental Impacts and Costs; Improved Health and Wellness; and Effective Environmental and Sustainability Education. In addition to the higher education institutions, 58 schools and 14 districts were recognized.
