2 graduate students honored

Two graduate assistants in WKU’s Department of Intramural-Recreational Sports who are students in the School of Kinesiology, Recreation and Sport have earned the following honors:

Ruben Duffie of Cincinnati, Ohio, received the Kinesiology, Recreation, and Sport Scholarship to attend the International Association of Venue Managers (IAVM) Conference Aug. 1-4 in Baltimore, Maryland.

Duffie will be presenting an article he published in KAHPERD (Kentucky Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance) State Journal titled “Assessing Public Relation Strategies for Crisis Situations in Sports.”

Duffie is a graduate assistant of facilities for IMREC Sports and is a student in the Recreation and Sport Administration program.

Josh Pullens of Los Angeles, California, was selected by the National Intramural Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA) to serve on the staff during the Basketball National Campus Championships Series April 17-19 in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Pullens served in the capacity as a member of all tournament committee responsible for registration, hospitality and operations.

Pullens is a graduate assistant of intramural sports for IMREC Sports and is a student in the Recreation and Sport Administration program.
