Intergenerational Leadership Conference set for April 10

The WKU LEAD Coalition is sponsoring an Intergenerational Leadership Communication Conference on April 10 at the Knicely Conference Center.

The guest speaker is Dr. Carley Dodd, former dean of the Graduate School, acting dean of Nursing, and professor of Communication at Abilene Christian University. He is author or co-author of 12 books (including The Gospel According to Generation X), 140 scholarly articles and papers, consultant to 80 organizations (including several in Kentucky) and international presenter on cultural shifts to workplace and educational adaptation.

He is founder of the Go Culture Assessment, named Teacher of the Year at ACU, named Teacher of the Year by the Texas Speech Communication Association, and honored by the University of Shanghai as a Top 30 World Intercultural Scholar. He served as president of the Kentucky Association of Communication, president of the Association of Texas Graduate Schools and vice president of the Society of Intercultural Education, Training and Research.

The 11 a.m.-noon session will be directed toward the leadership of generations in the business world and will be followed by lunch with the consultant. At 1:30 p.m. the group will move its focus to leadership communication in education and finally the consultant will host a discussion time regarding millennials in the workplace and in education.
