WKU to participate in Transfer Madness online fair March 26

College students who are interested in transferring college credits or associate degrees to WKU can connect with student services to get questions answered during the upcoming online Transfer Madness fair.

transfer2015Transfer Madness online college fair, for anyone interested in transferring to WKU, will be held from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. CDT Thursday (March 26) at transfermadness.org.

Now in its third year, Transfer Madness connects students from the 16 colleges of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System to advisors from more than 20 four-year institutions including WKU. High school students who plan to attend a community college before transferring and four-year college students considering a transfer are also invited to participate.

“We have made great strides in creating a ‘transfer-friendly’ atmosphere at WKU,” said President Gary Ransdell. “We’ve taken many steps, including the creation of a full-service Transfer Center, to make the process as seamless as possible. We want to be the four-year degree destination for any student transferring from a two-year institution.”

During this online event, students can chat live with WKU representatives who will answer questions related to Admissions, Financial Aid, Scholarships, Regional Campuses, and more. WKU will give away a $500 scholarship to a transfer student who attends the event and enrolls at WKU.

Christopher Jensen, who heads up the new Transfer Center at WKU, understands that the transfer process may seem intimidating to students. “We’re here to answer questions, provide guidance, and make the process easier from start to finish,” he said. “Transfer Madness provides a convenient way for students to connect to WKU and to understand the process and steps to transfer.”

The online event is sponsored by the Council on Postsecondary Education and participating colleges and universities from across Kentucky. To register for the event and prizes, and to view the list of the participating colleges, universities and other partners, go to transfermadness.org.
