23 WKU students are candidates for 2015 Coming Home King

Twenty-three WKU students are vying for the 2015 Coming Home King. The king will be crowned Feb. 28 during halftime of WKU’s men’s basketball game versus Florida International. Tipoff is 7 p.m. at Diddle Arena.

Candidates will participate in numerous activities including an interview on Feb. 24, a volunteer experience on Feb. 27, and a banquet Feb. 28. WKU students will cast their votes for the Coming Home King on Feb. 23 via TopNet.

The 2015 Coming Home King Candidates are:

  • William Berry of Scottsville, the son of James Berry and Susan Keen. He is a Corporate & Organizational Communications/Advertising major and is sponsored by Kappa Sigma and the WKU Campus Activities Board.
  • Mack Bekeza of Nashville, Tennessee, the son of David Sams and Michelle Bekeza. He is a Finance major and is sponsored by the WKU Panhellenic Council and the WKU Interfraternity Council.
  • John “Jay” Brough of Frankfort, the son of Sam and Judy Brough. He is a Business Administration major and is sponsored by Pi Kappa Alpha and Delta Sigma Pi.
  • McGavinn Brown of Franklin, the son of the late Mark Brown and Kelly Brown. He is a History/Political Science major and is sponsored by Chi Omega.
  • Derek Cressman of Nashville, Tennessee, the son of Drew and Sally Cressman. He is a Broadcasting major and is sponsored by Baptist Campus Ministry.
  • Joseph Dahmer of Louisville, the son of Steve Dahmer and Ann Coffey. He is an International Business/Political Science major and is sponsored by WKU College Youth in Government.
  • Jonny Garcia of Nashville, Tennessee, the son of Eric Garcia and Lucy Rodriguez. He is a Healthcare Administration major and is sponsored by Omega Phi Alpha and Sigma Phi Epsilon.
  • Jamie Harvener of Lexington, the son of Ken and Hope Harvener. He is a Business Administration major and is sponsored by Phi Mu.
  • Matthew Lawson of LaGrange, the son of Robin and Linda Lawson. He is an International Affairs major and is sponsored by HonorsToppers.
  • Cameron Levis of Louisville, the son of Mark and BJ Levis. He is a Recreation Administration/Sports Management major and is sponsored by Phi Delta Theta and Inclusive Ministries.
  • Eric Marr of Glasgow, the son of Gary and Cindy Marr. He is a Chemistry major and is sponsored by Spirit Masters.
  • Allan Moreno of Nashville, Tennessee, the son of Elmer Moreno and Maribel Lara. He is a Corporate & Organizational Communications major and is sponsored by Kappa Delta and Sigma Nu.
  • Daniel Mulert of Lexington, the son of Russell and Carrie Mulert. He is a Chemistry major and is sponsored by Alpha Omicron Pi and Sigma Alpha Epsilon.
  • Colin Perschbacher of Denver, Colorado, the son of Scott and Anne Perschbacher. He is an Advertising major and is sponsored by Alpha Xi Delta.
  • Tony Piedmonte of Goshen, the son of Darren and Joan Piedmonte. He is a Public Relations/Biology major and is sponsored by WKU Relay for Life.
  • Zach Pillow of Bowling Green, the son of Haydon and Laura Pillow. He is an Exercise Science major and is sponsored by Alpha Gamma Delta.
  • Charlie Rhea of Louisville, the son of Tim and Laura Rhea. He is a Public Health major and is sponsored by Phi Gamma Delta.
  • Jay Todd Richey of Glasgow, the son of Jeff and Lorie Richey. He is a Political Science/Asian Religions and Cultures/Chinese major and is sponsored by the WKU Student Government Association.
  • Taylor Ruby of Somerset, the son of Eric Ruby and Whitney Gadberry. He is a Biology major and is sponsored by Alpha Delta Pi.
  • Jacob Sampson of Rolesville, North Carolina, the son of Richard Sampson and Latrisha Lamar. He is a History major and is sponsored by Sigma Kappa and Alpha Tau Omega.
  • Ryan White of Liberty, the son of Shannon and Cheri White. He is a Mechanical Engineering major and is sponsored by Ogden College of Science and Engineering.
  • Corbin Wilson of Calhoun, the son of Brian and Christy Wilson. He is an Accounting major and is sponsored by Farmhouse.
  • John Wozniak of Victoria, Texas, the son of Russell and Marcia Wozniak. He is an Exercise Science major and is sponsored by Phi Sigma Pi and the Exercise Science Club.
