WKU’s annual United Way campaign continues through Oct. 31

WKU’s annual United Way campaign will continue through Friday (Oct. 31) as coordinators continue to work hard to solicit donations from WKU faculty and staff for the local United Way of Southern Kentucky’s funded programs. In 2013, 457 WKU employees donated $58,212 to help those in Southern Kentucky who need help most. An additional $1,579 was raised in special events for a total 2013 WKU United Way contribution of $59,792.

In 2014, more than 50 coordinators have volunteered to assist with United Way’s campaign efforts on WKU’s campus led by head coordinators Scott Taylor, Jan Peeler and Mindy Johnson. The goal for the 2014 WKU campaign is to have 650 employees raise $68,500. The dollars raised will remain in Southern Kentucky to impact the most critical issues facing community residents including poverty, personal abuse, substance abuse, youth development, senior services, literacy, and disabilities.

Partnerships like those with WKU make it possible for United Way of Southern Kentucky to provide more than 55,000 services to our friends, families and co-workers locally each year.
