A new literary event featuring more than 30 authors with ties to the region will take place Sept. 6 at the Bob Kirby branch of the Warren County Public Library. Authors will be signing and selling their books from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. In addition to the Authors Showcase, there will be a free Writers Workshop on Sept. 5 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
“We are very pleased to offer this opportunity to the community,” said Kristie Lowry, literary outreach coordinator for WKU Libraries and Book Fest organizer. “With so many talented authors in the region, the SOKY Book Fest partnership felt it was important to add another event to spotlight their works. We are also excited to have showcase authors Jennie L. Brown and Mark Wayne Adams conducting the writing sessions on Friday.”
Brown will present the Friday morning session, The Soap-On-A-Rope Mistake: Why Editing Matters, and Adams will be providing the afternoon session titled, AIM Kit: Creating an Author/Illustrator Media Kit.
All events are free and open to the public. The Bob Kirby branch is located at 175 Iron Skillet Court. Reservations are required for Friday’s writers workshop. To register, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 270-745-4502.
