WKU Aging, AARP Kentucky, the Barren River Area Agency on Aging and Independent Living and the City of Bowling Green are hosting the second annual “Gathering,” a networking opportunity for organizations and businesses that have undertaken age-friendly initiatives.
The Gathering will take place from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Aug. 12 at WKU’s Augenstein Alumni Center, and 30 groups will have the opportunity to network and share their efforts with other business and community leaders in Warren County. All businesses and organizations that work with seniors in any capacity are encouraged to attend. Registration is free and breakfast will be provided. This event is part of the Age-friendly Bowling Green initiative. This hands-on community initiative uses the World Health Organization’s framework for assessing the age-friendliness of Bowling Green.
The second annual Age-friendly Awareness Business Award will also be presented at this meeting. All businesses, organizations and groups that have taken any action to become more age-friendly are eligible. Nominations are due by noon Aug. 5 can be submitted to Hunt.
