Public radio stations in Kentucky have elected new leadership to be advocates for public broadcasting and promote statewide collaboration.
The Kentucky Public Radio Network (KPRN) affiliation is open to all community, university or jointly licensed public radio stations operating in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Responsibilities of the network include administration of the capital bureau reporter in Frankfort.
During a general managers meeting in Louisville on May 13, David Brinkley, interim director of WKU Public Broadcasting (WKYU), was installed as Chairman for the organization. Roger Duvall (WEKU, Richmond) returns as the Vice Chairman and Kate Lochte (WKMS, Murray) takes on joint duties as Secretary/Treasurer. Donovan Reynolds (Louisville Public Media) is the immediate past Chairman and also a charter member.
“We are moving into a time period where collaboration and cooperation are essential components for serving our audiences,” Brinkley said. “Local content is at the center of what we do every day and we want to make sure that, as we evolve, our communities are served with the highest level of efficiency and purpose.”
