Kentucky Educational Leadership Doctoral Symposium March 29-30

WKU will host the second annual Kentucky Educational Leadership Doctoral Symposium March 29-30 at the Knicely Conference Center.

The theme for this year’s symposium is Navigating the Changing Landscape of Educational Leadership. The two-day event at WKU’s South Campus will provide a variety of opportunities to hear from state and national leaders in education, peer reviewed research from doctoral students, gain skills related to research strategies, dissertation preparation, leadership skills, and practical applications of technology.

Keynote speakers include: George Mehaffy, Vice President for Academic Leadership and Change at the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU); Robert L. King, President of the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education; Thomas G. Floyd, Superintendent of Madison County Schools; Greg Coker, President & CEO of The Cathedral Institute, a non-profit organization whose mission is Empowering People, Building Teams, Transforming Organizations, and Changing the World; and Nathan Phelps, Assistant Professor of Honors and Interdisciplinary Studies at WKU.

The symposium, sponsored by WKU’s Educational Leadership Doctoral Program, will begin at 8:15 a.m. March 29 and 7:30 a.m. March 30. A tentative schedule is available online at http://www.wku.edu/kc/2012-edu-lead/agenda.php
