4 WKU graduates among Ursuline Sisters celebrating jubilees this year

Four Ursuline Sisters of Mount Saint Joseph (Maple Mount, Ky.) who earned degrees from WKU are among 12 sisters celebrating jubilees of religious profession this year.

Sister Pauletta McCarty

Sister Pauletta McCarty is celebrating her 70th jubilee. Born in Curdsville, she earned a master’s degree at WKU. An educator for 36 years, she taught in Kentucky, Missouri and Nebraska. She also served in parish ministry in Owensboro and Greenville. She was assistant local superior, director of transportation, and then served as sacristan at the motherhouse at Mount Saint Joseph before retiring in 1998.

Sister Clarence Marie Luckett

Sister Clarence Marie Luckett is celebrating 60 years of religious life. She earned a master’s degree at WKU. A Greenbriar native, she was a teacher for 29 years at various schools in Caldwell, Daviess, Grayson and Graves counties, as well as in Louisville. She has also provided parish and Hispanic ministry. From 1985-92, she worked in the craft room and helped with transportation at the motherhouse in Maple Mount. Sister Clarence Marie has been involved in outreach ministry in Caneyville since 1999.

Sister Nancy Murphy

Sister Nancy Murphy (Nancy Elizabeth Murphy), a native of Curdsville, is celebrating her 50th year of religious life. She earned a master’s degree in elementary education from WKU in 1973. She ministered throughout Kentucky, Illinois and Missouri. She is now serving as congregational secretary and as a councilor on the Ursuline leadership Council.

Sister Rosanne Spalding

Sister Rosanne Spalding, a native of Springfield, is celebrating her 50th year of religious life. She earned a master’s degree in education from WKU in 1974. She has ministered throughout Kentucky and in Nebraska. Today, she is pastoral associate and director of religious education at Precious Blood Parish, Owensboro.
