Campus news: ‘Spaceship Earth’ opens at planetarium; faculty member authors 3 chapters in financial planning book

Planetarium: ‘Spaceship Earth’ will be presented through July 7

spaceship earthWe live on a world that just will not sit still.  Join Hardin Planetarium’s staff for Spaceship Earth, a new, multimedia full-dome presentation exploring the many ways that we humans are hurtling through our universe. Sing along to the music as you experience the spectacular planetarium simulations and full-dome video imagery showing our Spaceship Earth as it rotates on its axis, in orbit around our Sun, which is in orbit with hundreds of billions of other stars in our Milky Way galaxy, which is moving in our amazing and expanding universe.

The 45-minute show will be presented at 7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and 2 p.m. Sundays through July 7. The show is suitable for all ages; please note that the show will begin on time, with no late entrance permitted.

Business: Finance Executive in Residence authors chapters in book

Andrew Head

Andrew Head, Finance Executive in Residence in the Gordon Ford College of Business, authored three chapters in the Financial Planning Competency Handbook, produced by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc.

The Financial Planning Competency Handbook serves students, faculty, and practitioners as an all-inclusive overview of nearly 90 vital topics in financial planning. Head’s chapters included the topics of annuities, insurance policy selection, and analyzing and evaluating a client’s current financial status.

Head earned his Master’s Degree in Applied Economics from WKU and also serves as the Director of the Financial Planning Program.
