2013 awards: WKU Greek community

WKU’s Greek community hosted its annual awards convocation on April 28 at the Knicely Conference Center.

The following awards were presented:

  • Randall Capps Greek Man of the Year: Michael Bush, Kappa Sigma, a senior from Louisville.
  • Greek Woman of the Year: Sarah Lowe, Alpha Omicron Pi, a senior from Bowling Green.
  • Charley Pride Spirit Award: Laura Johnson, Alpha Omicron Pi, a senior Bowling Green; Chris Hancock, FarmHouse, a junior from Sturgis.
  • Order of Omega Outstanding New Member of the Year: Allie Teta, Phi Mu, a sophomore from Louisville; Justin Rodriguez, Sigma Phi Epsilon, a sophomore from Coos Bay, Ore.
  • Randy Bracey Outstanding Advisor Award: Hunter Williams, Phi Mu.
  • Howard E. Bailey Distinguished Service Award: Krissy Taylor, Kappa Delta. Johnny Douglas, Lambda Chi Alpha.
  • M. Reed Morgan Fraternal Excellence Award: Sigma Alpha Epsilon
  • Most Improved Chapter: Omega Phi Alpha; FarmHouse.
  • Karen Towell Sisterhood Award: Alpha Omicron Pi.

Greek Week 2013 results

The Greek Week blood drive produced 1,473 productive units of blood for the American Red Cross, which can save up to 4,419 lives.

In the Overall Greek Week results, the following organizations were winners:

  • Sorority: Kappa Delta, first; Phi Mu, second; Sigma Kappa, third.
  • Fraternity: FarmHouse, first; Alpha Gamma Rho, second; Sigma Phi Epsilon, third.
