Kentucky First Lady Jane Beshear will be in Bowling Green Monday (March 4) to kick off 2013 Kentucky Literacy Celebration Week.
Ms. Beshear will begin her visit at 9 a.m. at WKU. She will start in the Educational Resources Center in Gary Ransdell Hall. After a tour and brief meeting with a Literacy 320 class, Ms. Beshear will go to Ransdell Hall room 2066 to meet with a Literacy 199 class to talk about the value of reading quality literature and the affect of reading on college readiness.
From there, Ms. Beshear will go to the Housing Authority of Bowling Green. Executive Director Abraham Williams will give a tour of the Learning Center and discuss connections between pre-service teachers the focus on literacy growth with students in the after-school program.
