The 16th season of WKU’s Cultural Enhancement Series continues Monday (March 4) with a performance by Ailey II.
Ailey II is an exceptional company that merges the spirit and energy of the country’s best young dance talent with the passion and creative vision of today’s most outstanding emerging choreographers. Started in 1974 as the Alvin Ailey Repertory Ensemble, Ailey II embodies Mr. Ailey’s pioneering mission to establish an extended cultural community that provides dance performances, training and community programs for all people. The performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. (Central time) in Van Meter Hall and is open and free to faculty, students, staff and the community. The 2012-13 Cultural Enhancement Series season will conclude with a lecture by author Garrison Keillor on March 26 and a performance by Chanticleer on April 11.
