WKU Extended Learning & Outreach (DELO) announces the creation of the new Workforce Training Center. Developed to enhance the recently created Continuing & Professional Development (CPD) unit, the Center will work with WKU faculty/staff and regional businesses, industries and organizations to facilitate workforce training needs throughout the region.
Dr. Beth Laves, associate vice president of Extended Learning, said that the demand for non-credit and workforce training has grown, and the center will enhance the opportunities for the region. Dr. Sue Parrigin has been named as program manager and assumed her new role Nov. 1.
“We anticipate that the new CPD unit will allow DELO to expand our non-credit outreach programs even beyond our current successes, and the new Workforce Training Center will be responsible for forging new partnership opportunities,” Laves said. “Dr. Parrigin brings experience that will benefit the growth of CPD, and we look forward to working with her as she begins her new role as Program Manager of the WKU Workforce Training Center.”
According to Parrigin, her main role will be to build upon existing relationships and form new partnerships with businesses and industries throughout the region. “I look forward to assuming this new role and working with local leaders and organizations to expand the ever-changing landscape of workforce development,” Parrigin said.
