Emmy-winning sports documentary producers/filmmakers Amina Moreau and Joyce Tsang will visit WKU on Oct. 29 for a screening and discussion of A Game of Honor, which followed the Army and Navy football programs for an entire season.
The presentation, sponsored by WKU’s School of Journalism & Broadcasting and Canon Explorers of Light, will begin at 7 p.m. at Mass Media and Technology Hall Auditorium. Admission is free and is open to the public.
Moreau and Tsang will lead the presentation by screening the CBS Sports/SHOWTIME production of A Game of Honor followed by a discussion and Q&A on how the film was shot and edited in just one fall season.
A Game of Honor captures a never-before-seen look at the Division I football programs at The U.S. Military Academy at West Point and The U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis. The Cadets and Midshipmen endure a much different athletic experience than any other football program in the nation. The documentary reveals the dedication, discipline and determination required to make the journey from military training, to an elite classroom education, and onto the football field. While the story follows a football season, the characters and narrative are much more than just football.
The SHOWTIME and CBS Sports collaboration on the Army-Navy documentary was nominated for eight Emmy Awards and won three — Outstanding Sports Documentary; Outstanding Sports Promotional Announcement — Episodic; and Outstanding New Approaches — Sports Programming for the collaborative effort between SHOWTIME and CBSSports.com on a multi-part web series.
