Dr. S. Kay Gandy, associate professor in WKU’s School of Teacher Education, was awarded the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences’ Joseph P. Cangemi Award for Excellence in Leadership in Psychology/Education, which was established in 2001 to recognize College personnel who have made broad applied contributions to their professional fields.
Dr. Gandy was recognized with a plaque and a monetary award of $1,000 at the 2012 College of Education and Behavioral Sciences (CEBS) fall convocation. Dr. Gandy is teaching the semester at Harlaxton College in England.
Candidates for the award must be full-time faculty or staff assigned to the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences; have evidence of a sustained record of successfully working with organizations, both within and outside the university; have displayed excellence in teaching; have generated creative, applied contributions; and have worked with diverse populations either within the United States or abroad.
