WKU’s Office of International Programs along with the Gordon Ford College of Business welcomed 18 new exchange students from seven partner institutions for the fall semester.
Counting four exchange students continuing their studies from the spring 2012 semester, the WKU campus and community will play host to 22 exchange students during the fall 2012 semester.
Before fall classes began, the students participated in a week of orientations, tours and administrative tasks. They also attended a picnic at the home of WKU President Gary Ransdell on Aug. 22 and a welcome dinner at the Faculty House on Aug. 24.
Though the students are here to immerse themselves in the culture of the USA while seeing the sights and making new friends, the students are enrolled in courses across WKU’s academic colleges. Nine of the students will be engaged in a full-academic year exchange as part of a double-degree program between WKU’s Gordon Ford College of Business and ESC Saint-Etienne.
WKU has formal exchange agreements with nearly two dozen institutions and hosts around 50 exchange students each year.
