Dr. Sam Evans, dean of WKU’s College of Education and Behavioral Sciences, has announced the following administrative appointments:
Dr. Jacqueline Pope-Tarrence has been named Associate Dean for Accountability and Research. Dr. Pope-Tarrence will provide leadership for the Professional Education Unit accountability system and will continue her responsibilities in developing program review documents associated with National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and Education Professional Standards Board (EPBS) accreditation and program approval. She has been a member of the faculty at WKU since 1992, holding the rank of Professor in the Department of Psychology, with a focus on Social Psychology.
Dr. Janet Applin has been appointed Associate Dean for Academic Programs. Dr. Applin has provided leadership at the college and university levels in a variety of capacities associated with academic programs. She has been a member of the faculty at WKU since 2004, holding the rank of Associate Professor in the School of Teacher Education, with a focus on Exceptional Education.
Dr. Sylvia Dietrich has been named Interim Director of the School of Teacher Education/Associate Dean for the 2012-2013 academic year. She has been a member of the faculty at WKU since 2005, holding the rank of Associate Professor in the School of Teacher Education, with a focus on Early Childhood Special Education.
Dr. Tony Norman has been appointed Interim Head of the Department of Educational Administration, Leadership and Research for the 2012-2013 academic year. He will assume this position as well as continue in the role as Director of the Educational Leadership Doctoral Program in the College. Dr. Norman has been a member of the faculty at WKU since 2007, holding the rank of Professor in the Department of Psychology, with a focus on Educational Psychology.
