The Pre-College Strings Program announces two performances in September and a book fair to benefit their partner, The Symphony.
On Saturday, Sept. 10, Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra Concertmaster Noah Bendix-Balgley will be featured as a guest artist, performing with the artist-faculty and WKU Strings at the Allen County-Scottsville Arts on Main Summer Concert Series from 7-9 p.m. The performance will include a variety of pieces showcasing the students’ work throughout the spring semester.
Strings students will also perform with The Symphony and area high school orchestras from Warren County and Bowling Green at Free Symphony Day on Saturday, Sept. 17, at Jackson’s Orchard. Performances will include music from “The Lion King,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Aladdin” and other Disney favorites.
The Symphony will benefit from a two-day book fair held at Barnes & Noble Sept. 16-17. As part of the event, faculty from the Pre-College program will participate in story time at Barnes & Noble at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 16.
