The Confucius Institute at WKU will be conducting the following Chinese language classes, which begin the week of Sept. 18 and continue through the week of Dec. 1 in Helm Library, room 100:
- Adult Chinese Language Afternoon Classes: Every Tuesday and Thursday from noon to 1 p.m. Cost is $120 per pupil, and lunch will be served.
- Adult Chinese Language Evening Classes: Every Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Cost is $90 per pupil.
- Youth Chinese Language Classes: Every Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Cost is $90 per pupil.
The Confucius Institute’s mission is to disseminate Chinese language and culture throughout Kentucky, as well as to promote, host and participate in Chinese events both locally and regionally. They also support the Chinese Learning Center in WKU’s Helm Library, a center for Chinese language classes, art, lectures, videos and literature, and the Volunteer Teacher Program, which places Chinese language teachers in K-16 classrooms throughout Kentucky.
