On Tuesday (Aug. 2), the WKU community will honor Command Sergeant Major John Brownell, the Kinesiology, Recreation and Sport Administration (KRS) graduate student whose 6th Squadron, 4th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 1st Infantry Division (6-4 Cav) from Fort Knox was adopted by the department throughout their deployment.
Member of the KRS department, Extended Learning & Outreach, ALIVE Center and WKU faculty and staff have shown their support for the Division by sending care packages to them since being deployed in January to Afghanistan.
WKU President Gary Ransdell and other WKU faculty and staff will be at the Knicely Conference Center at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday for a luncheon in honor of Sergeant Major Brownell who will be in the U.S. for a brief period of time.
