A groundbreaking ceremony for WKU’s new Augenstein Alumni Center will begin at 4 p.m. July 15 at the corner of 14th and Center streets adjacent to the WKU campus. (New: Photos from the ceremony)
Once completed in October 2012, the Augenstein Alumni Center will provide:
- A grand ballroom to accommodate large social gatherings
- A WKU museum to highlight the history and traditions of the institution
- An executive board room with multimedia capacity
- A living room for smaller gatherings, receptions and social events
- A library to showcase work by WKU alumni, faculty, staff and students as well as display Heralds, Talismans, and BU Towers from the past
- An auditorium for lectures, workshops, presentations and campus orientations
- An executive dining room for small luncheons and events
- A large atrium for public space and donor recognition areas
- Administrative offices for the Alumni Association and WKU Foundation
The groundbreaking will be held in conjunction with the quarterly meeting of the National Alumni Association Board of Directors.
Parking for the groundbreaking ceremony will be available in the 14th Street lot, Kentucky Street lot and the Adams Street lot.
