Applications online for SCATS

The Center for Gifted Studies at WKU has posted the application for the 29th annual Summer Camp for Academically Talented Middle School Students (SCATS) June 12-24.

This two-week camp is for 200 campers, both residential and non-residential. Located on the campus of WKU in Bowling Green, SCATS provides enhanced learning opportunities for academically talented sixth, seventh and eighth grade students.

Last summer, young people from 50 school districts, four states and two countries came to campus where they chose four classes from a list of 30 that they attended daily at the two-week camp. The Center offers a diverse curriculum covering a range of interests including music, art, math, history and acting. Campers who choose to live on the WKU campus during the program also take part in a variety of exciting activities outside the classroom, such as sports, dances and a talent show.

To download the application, visit The Center’s website at www.wku.edu/gifted.  For more information about camp, click Programming/Students/SCATS, or call The Center at (270) 745-5991.
