WKU’’s Department of Public Health and the Kentucky Public Health Association will observe World AIDS/HIV Awareness Day with a candlelight vigil Wednesday (Dec. 1).
The vigil will begin at 6 p.m. at WKU’s Centennial Mall. Parking is available on levels 1-3 of Parking Structure 1.
Chad Beswick, vice president of WKU’s KPHA chapter, said a new case of HIV is diagnosed in the United States every 9½ minutes. He said the event is designed for fellowship and remembrance as well as to heighten awareness.
