Join The Center for Gifted Studies at WKU on Monday and Tuesday (Dec. 6-7) for Continuing to Build Everyday Leadership: Learn, Teach, Do.
The featured presenter for the day-and-a-half leadership workshop is Mariam MacGregor, the award-winning author of Building Everyday Leadership Curriculum and Teambuilding with Teens.
The Leadership Institute will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday and 8:30 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the Carroll Knicely Conference Center, 2355 Nashville Road, Bowling Green.
In order to prepare our students to compete in the global 21st century society, leadership skills must be developed. Spend a day-and-a-half investigating ideas, strengthening skills and finding ways to translate this awareness to build the leadership skills of students.
The group will explore several practical leadership activities, identifying connections to academic subject areas as well as extensions and enrichments. Ideas for integrating and incorporating leadership into academic subject areas will be explored. Participants will leave with a student leadership continuum/portfolio formulated for their setting.
This workshop is appropriate for teachers, counselors, administrators, scouting leaders, or anyone who works with students, teaching leadership skills. Registration is $90 or $45 per individual bringing a leadership project exhibit (up to a team of three).
The registration form is available on The Center for Gifted Studies homepage at www.wku.edu/gifted or by calling (270) 745-5991.
