WKU, KCTCS partner on transfer day

The Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) is partnering with WKU to sponsor an informative, fun-filled event designed to promote transfer between the two institutions. On Saturday, (Nov. 20) WKU will host potential KCTCS transfer students at the Bowling Green campus for a lunch, admissions seminar and campus tour.

More than 100 KCTCS students and their guests have signed up to participate in the transfer activities, which includes a lunch with WKU President Gary Ransdell and an on-field introduction during the WKU vs. Middle Tennessee football game.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to become better acquainted with WKU and to experience a taste of campus life,” said KCTCS President Michael B. McCall.  “Our goal is to work with the other universities in the state to sponsor similar types of activities to encourage more KCTCS students to complete a baccaulaureate degree.”

Transfer education is a key mission of KCTCS and is critical to increasing the state’s educational attainment levels and enhancing the lives of Kentucky citizens. HB160, approved during the 2010 Kentucky General Assembly, created a more clearly defined path to a bachelor’s degree for KCTCS students who plan to transfer to a four-year university within the state.
