WKU’s Cultural Enhancement Series begins its 2010-11 season on Oct. 12 with a lecture on Immigration in America by Richard Rodriguez.
The lecture begins at 7:30 p.m. at Van Meter Hall. Admission is free and open to WKU students, faculty and staff as well as the community.
Rodriguez has been hailed by The Washington Post as “one of the most eloquent and probing public intellectuals in the country.” Because of three memoirs, his television essays for nearly 20 years on The NewsHour on PBS and his essays in newspapers and magazines in the U.S. and Europe, he has become the most prominent Hispanic intellectual in America.
Other events in the 2010-11 series (all at 7:30 p.m. at Van Meter Hall) are: Natalie MacMaster on Nov. 17; Imani Winds on Feb. 21; and Chuck Klosterman on March 22.
