The National Council for Geographic Education (NCGE) announced that the article “Writing a Successful Fulbright Group Projects Abroad Grant: Voices from as Journey to South Africa” was selected as the Best College/University article published in the Journal of Geography in 2009.
Authors of the article included Dr. S. Kay Gandy (WKU’s School of Teacher Education), Dr. Darrell P. Kruger (Illinois State University), Dr. Amber Bechard (John F. Kennedy Middle School in Plainfield, Ill.), Randy Brown (Iowa City High School) and Diane Williams (ANSER Junior High in Boise, Idaho).
The Journal of Geography provides a forum for educators and scholars to present results from teaching and research that advance understanding and practice of geographic education from pre-kindergarten through post-graduate levels. The authors will receive their award at the 2010 NCGE conference in Savannah, Ga.
