The Center for Gifted Studies at WKU hosted the Kentucky Recognition Ceremony for the Duke University Talent Identification Program on May 28 in Diddle Arena. Dr. Terry Holliday, Kentucky’s Commissioner of Education, delivered the keynote address. Dr. Sam Evans, dean of WKU’s College of Education and Behavioral Sciences, also welcomed the students. The Duke TIP 7th Grade Talent Search identifies students in 16 states who have scored in the 95th percentile on a grade-level achievement test. Duke TIP hosts annual Recognition Ceremonies to honor the seventh-graders who score highest on SAT or ACT exams. More than 1,400 Kentucky students were eligible to be honored at the WKU event.
