The Chi Eta Chapter of Phi Gamma Delta at WKU will celebrate its Chartering Weekend on April 30-May 1.
The highlight of the weekend will be the Chartering Banquet and Norris Pig Dinner at 6 p.m. May 1 at the Houchens Industries-L.T. Smith Stadium Topper Club. Archon President William R. Miller will be the keynote speaker for the banquet.
Phi Gamma Delta, also known as Fiji, began its colonization at WKU in October 2008.
In addition to the chapter receiving its charter, the weekend activities include the initiation of 54 members and installation of officers. A reception for parents, family, guests and WKU faculty and staff will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. April 30 at The Kentucky Room at the Kentucky Building.
The WKU chapter has been active in two philanthropies – the 2009 Rivalry Run (running the football game ball from WKU to MTSU to benefit American Red Cross) and the 2010 Fijis Across America (cross country bike ride to benefit Alzheimer’s research) – and has had the highest GPA among fraternities.
